New List of books to read.

1. Gone with the Wind
2. The Catcher in the Rye
3. Wuthering Heights
4. Great Expectations
5. A Fine Balance
6. Jane Eyre
7. Emma

Whew!
By the way, it is quite impertinent to blog about Taylor Swift, who was absolutely phenomenal. She's so beautiful, like her voice. It was an amazing concert, I didn't stop dancing/singing the entire way through! I didn't take those pictures, but here they are anyway! I miss her already. I got a guitar pick from the concert! Yay! Let's hope she comes back, and I'll be getting closer seats! :)

Missing the water right now, so posted this up!
This is quite amazing, I've no clue (nor ability to derive)
whether this is edited or genuine, but if such things were
possible I'd definitely try it out!

Now that I look at it again, it probably is photo-shopped
(or the like), but I'll dismiss my scientific and mathematical
logic cognitions (I am improving in that aspect, but I
don't think I'll let my ratiocination smote my imagination!

Oh gosh, I really like that quote.

Yes, I thought it up myself.

Let's put it in a blockquote.

I won't let my my ratiocination smote my imagination!

At first I put my name after it, crowning it my quote but
I suppose that's a rather selfish thing to do, and life isn't
about the credit and the crown.

Again...

Life isn't about the credit and the crown.

I'm thinking to myself; I'm merely 13 (not that age matters;
oh I just contradicted myself), and I don't think I've got
the experience and right to state what life's about. Why
don't we reword it to:

Ideas aren't about the credit and the crown.

At first I thought, 'success,' but instead coined 'ideas'
because that was what I had thought up, an idea. Also,
I thought about the French Revolution (I'm studying it)
and how Voltaire and Rousseau's  (Just to list those two)
ideas had shaped France so greatly.

It's not about the acclaim, it's about it's affect, isn't it?

Conversion trumps commendation.

Haha, how was that!

Well guys, I think I'll go now!
It's been very fun blogging today.

Before I leave: three new words I discovered through reading (or skimming, hehe) two articles!

Ca·coph·o·ny
[kuh-kof-uh-nee] –noun, plural -nies.
1. harsh discordance of sound; dissonance: a cacophony of hoots, cackles, and wails.
2. a discordant and meaningless mixture of sounds: the cacophony produced by city traffic at midday.
3. Music . frequent use of discords of a harshness and relationship difficult to understand.

So·lil·o·quy
[suh-lil-uh-kwee] –noun, plural -quies.
1. an utterance or discourse by a person who is talking to himself or herself or is disregardful of or oblivious to any hearers present (often used as a device in drama to disclose a character's innermost thoughts): Hamlet's soliloquy begins with “To be or not to be.”
2. the act of talking while or as if alone.

Eu·pho·ni·ous
[yoo-foh-nee-uhs] –adjective
pleasant in sound; agreeable to the ear; characterized by euphony: a sweet, euphonious voice.

Hellooooooooooooooooooeverybody.

Feeling odd today, so listening to BOH to cheer me up.
Ooh, I do love the golden yellow below.

I used to see the night so anxious, but now I know:
The only thing it ever taught me was a grand illusion that comes and goes.

Still fuming about my malfunctioned mixpod.

Somehow, despite its elucidation, I like the word 'fuming'. Something about it's spelling is quite nice and I like the way the word sounds on my tongue.

Okay, bye guys.

My mixpod has problems. Fixing it now.
Furious that it's not working.

Hi guys,
have decided to add the uploading of quotes from 'A Wrinkle in Time' to my list of over-achiever goals... meaning that I don't think I'm going to be doing so, sorry.
But there is one quote,

"Like and equal are not the same thing at all."

I like it.

Anyhow, I had a tough day today and my weak spot was meddled with, as I meddled with other affairs, so I opened my fortune cookie which made me feel a lot better...

Who is without a flaw?

Bye guys, I have to do homework now.

Hi, friends.
The 'A Wrinkle in Time' quotes will take all week.
Right now, here are two'Leaf by Niggle' quotes.
Sorry there are only two!
Photography Graphics

I strongly recommend you read the story, it's short but captivating, very interesting.
The photo above is not quite Niggle's leaf though, haha!
Just thought I'd put a leaf in for the atmosphere.

he had no 'time of his own' (except alone in his bed-cell), and yet he was becoming master of time; he began to know just what he could do with it. There was no sense of rush. He was quieter inside now, and at resting-time he could really rest.
There was once a little man called Niggle, who had a long journey to make. He did not want to go, indeed the whole idea was distasteful to him; but he could not get out of it. He knew he would have to start some time, but he did not hurry with his preparations.

I found it.

Well, here goes a lot of quotes (Part 1):
"It's a privilege, not a punishment."
-- Meg on having the attic room during the storm. She got the room because she was eldest (privilege) but now has to withstand the heavy storm throughout the night (punishment).

"There's nothing the matter with his mind. He just does things in his own way and in his own time."
-- Mr. Murry on Charles being a 'late bloomer'.

"Usually no matter what happens people think it's my fault, even if I have nothing to do with it at all."
-- Meg on the fight with the Henderson boy

"'Maybe if I weren't so repulsive looking -- maybe if I were pretty like you -- ' 'Mother's not a bit pretty; she's beautiful,' Charles Wallace announced, slicing liverwurst. 'Thus I bet she was awful at your age.' 'How right you are,' Mrs. Murry said. 'Just give yourself time, Meg.'"
-- The conversation between Meg, Charles and Mrs. Murry on beauty

"'I do face facts,' Meg said. 'They're lots easier to face than people, I can tell you.'"
-- Meg retorting to Mr. Jenkins when he tells her that her father isn't coming home.

"The heart has its reasons, whereof reason knows nothing."
-- Mrs. Who, on stealing the white sheets (Mrs. Who practically speaks in quotes so I won't write down all the quotes she says, just the ones I particularly like).

"You don't know how lucky you are to be loved."
-- Calvin to Meg.

"'Do you think things always have an explanation?' 'Yes. I believe that they do. But I think that with our human limitations we're not always able to understand the explanations. But you see, Meg, just because we don't understand doesn't mean that the explanation doesn't exist.'"

"'I like to understand things,' Meg said. 'We all do. But it isn't always possible.'"

-- Meg and Mrs. Murry's conversation on explanations and understandings.

"People are more than just the way they look."
-- Mrs. Murry on Charles and people.

"They can't understand plain, ordinary love when they see it."
-- Calvin on the townspeople who spread rumours about Mr. and Mrs. Murry.

"'Well, you know what, you've got dream-boat eyes," Calvin said. 'Listen, you go right on wearing your glasses. I don't think I want anybody else to see what gorgeous eyes you have.'"
--Calvin to Meg about her eyes. :)

Hello, everyone.
I'm blogging today to post up the many quotes I read upon and found wonderful in 'A Wrinkle in Time,' by Madeleine L'engle.
There's just one problem...
I cannot find the piece of paper on which I scribbled the page numbers upon.
I have an entire stack of papers (a birthday gift from a friend two years ago) on which I like to scribble thoughts, notes, and to-do lists every now and then. They're quite pretty, really. To quickly give a description of one sheet of paper from this stack, it has a white space for me to write on, a bold pink striped frame surrounding it filling up most of the upper quartile of the sheet, and let's not forget the green palm tree sprouting out from the top of the white space.
I leave a lot of these sheets with my scribbles around the house, and today I have realized this fully. I walked around trying to find my piece of paper and instead discovered many of the sheets of papers, but not the one with the book pages written upon. I'd pick up one of these sheets and think, eureka, this is it, just to realize that it actually isn't.
Soon I shall resume my search and go downstairs to the car park to see if I had left it in the car, which, knowing me, I actually might have.
Will blog again soon!

Merely blogging to announce that I am about to go and do what is meant to be done (violin, of course) rather than slothing around in front of the computer.
I thought that writing it here would make my proclamation authentic, and if it was to be discovered that I had not gone to practice my instrument I'd be rightly charged guilty.
Bye, guys!

I'd like to introduce you guys to fanfarlo.
http://fanfarlo.com/
If you don't check out their music, we're going to have some serious issues.

I took that, by the way! :)
Fireworks!
Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Hehe!
Perfect moment to share one of my favourite poems... of all time.
The finest rockets ever seen,
they burst in stars of blue and green.
For after thunder, silver showers,
came falling like a rain of flowers.

Some things make me want to cry my eyes out.
Songs, the past, and other things I don't want to go into detail about.
Just blogging to tell myself that everything will be alright.

Wilco is such a wonderful band.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Hello, hello everyone.
Have a list of things to talk about today!
This morning, I set off for basketball a bit later, but halfway through I felt the initiative and compel to phone home and tell my siblings to come along.
My little sister did, but not my twin brother.
Anyway, we had fun, and I plan on getting Henry to join in next time.

Is there a term to annotate a specific word which triggers an immediate and ineluctable mental impulse?
For me, that 'trigger-word' is butterfly.
That's why I uploaded the photo of a butterfly on the previous post.
I missed a layup today (or did I score? I cannot recall) and as I lifted my head to the skies to catch the falling ball, something so ethereal and recherché came floating down from the net that at first I thought it was a leaf. But then, as it came drifting down, I realized, that no, it was indeed a butterfly. It was so graceful, so fine.  And softly, it fluttered away.
I was worried I had hit it with the basketball, I dearly hope not.

Went out to JUSCO today to buy hot pot food (which was delicious, by the way).
Really did dress up, haha!
Wore my teal skirt with tights and my floral print shoes, plus a hoodie to top it off which didn't really match, but I do love it. Plus two rings, my metal chain bracelet and my umbrella necklace.
I saw a watch-ring the other day, I want it!
Might get it when it gets cheaper.
Reading 'A Wrinkle in Time', which is simple but I love.
Quotes will definitely be posted.

Bye guys!
Happy Chinese New Year!

Best wishes,

Your blogger

P.S. Loving the floral photography? Not by me though, haha!

Oh dear me
What a strange peculiar thing
That I should always see
Someone just like me
Oh can it be
Such a constant ache in me
That I should always see
That complimentary me

Happy Chinese New Year everybody!
It's the year of the bunny!

Glad to announce that I have perfected the left-hand layup. Concluded my practice this morning with a gorgeous (if I do say so myself, hehe) shot from the foul shot line. It swished in the basket and came flying out the hole in the netting (it was very lovely to watch) at me. :) Very excited to go back and practice tomorrow morning! I love this routine and am going to make it habitual.

Wake up at around 9, have breakfast, then arrive at court at around 10. Play until around 11, until I am content.
