10:22 and I'm debilitated.

de·bil·i·tate
[dih-bil-i-teyt]
–verb (used with object), -tat·ed, -tat·ing.
to make weak or feeble; enfeeble: The siege of pneumonia debilitated her completely.
My new favourite poem.

The Lily by William Blake

The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat'ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
Blogging to announce that I have finished reading The Return of the King, so concluding my Lord of the Rings adventure. :')

I was quite sad when I read the last sentence, really, something that has been such a large part of my life just suddenly ended. But, like I said before, I'll definitely re-read when I grow older.
I'm quite happy for Sam. :)
'Well, here at last, dear friends, on the shores of the Sea comes the end of our fellowship in Middle-earth. Go in peace! I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.'
But Sam turned to Bywater, and so came back up the Hill, as day was ending once more. And he went on, and there was yellow light, and fire within; and the evening meal was ready, and he was expected. And Rose drew him in, and set him in his chair, and put little Elanor upon his lap.
He drew a deep breath. "Well, I'm back," he said.

Sometimes I wish for falling, wish for the release
Wish for falling through the air to give me some relief
Because falling's not the problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace
It's only when I hit the ground it causes all the grief
Listening to Florence and the Machine, which makes me content.
I've realized that my mixpod has issues, so I'll fix it sometime soon.

Bye, readers!

P.S.
Reading Tree and Leaf by Tolkein now!
Will post quotes.

Good afternoon, my lovelies!
Take a listen to:

Baby, she's a wild thing!
Also, here's one of my favourite songs at the moment.

Go without,
Till the need seeps in
You low animal,
Collect your novel petals for the stem.

And glow.
Glow.
Melt and flow.
Eviscerate your fragile frame.
And spill it out on ragged floor.
A thousand different versions of yourself.

And if the old guards still offend,
They got nothing left on which you depend.
So enlist every ounce
Of your bright blood.
And off with their heads.

Jump from the hook.
You're not obliged to swallow anything you despise.
See, those unrepenting buzzards want your life,
And they got no right.
As sure as you have eyes,
They got no right.

Just put yourself in my new shoes.
And see that I do all I do.
Because the old guard still offends.
(Their pudgy hearts and slimy hands)
They got nothing left on which we depend.
So enlist every ounce
Of your bright blood.
And off with their heads.

Jump from the hook.
You're not obliged to swallow anything you despise,
That you despise.

I ditched violin and came to the computer to pointlessly browse around facebook at usual.
I decided I would quit zipping up and down the home page looking at peoples' conversations and come to my blog instead which is quite blatantly my 'digital sanctuary'.

I was talking to my mom earlier and had the strange feeling that my eyes weren't open wide enough. Those of you who know that I am in fact, Asian, I am not making a stereotypical joke. I'm being very honest.
I thought to myself it was probably because I had an overlapping eyelid from lack of sleep (I don't even know if that makes sense to you but it does to me so I'm cool with the phrase 'overlapping eyelid'), but then later came up with a theory that maybe it was because there was so much more of the world that I was missing, and not seeing. Once I saw something that was beautiful, something really beautiful, my eyes would open more and I would really be seeing. Don't know how that's going to happen though.
I've realized that the three bands I'm currently very into all have animals in their names.
Seabear
Band of horses
Noah and the whale
Haha, funny how that happens!
Thus, I decided to draw those three animals in my artbook. Struggling with the horse. I want to sketch a nice cuddly pony with a gorgeous blond mane swept over the front nose and face, but I haven't got the skills, sadly.

I have had a change of attitude regarding basketball.
Instead of sulking about 'not being good enough' I'm going to go shoot hoops every day of the holiday, starting from tomorrow. This, my friends, is good attitude and an admirable trait I've found in myself.
Sort of still sulking right now and have been eating comfort food (homemade cookies, yum) all day but I will accomplish what I've planned and I will be proud of myself, just like how I was proud for showing up and giving it my all.
Bye guys, dinner time!
I need an 'it's okay' song.
Going to go through my songs to find it.
Photography Graphics

The world's like a science and I'm like a secret.

Going to practice basketball during this holiday week!
We played a game today, and our whole team was pretty good but I really
want to improve, especially on defense and shooting.
Nothing left to write on the matter, except for what I'm thinking.

After lunch I'll jam to BOH while doing art homework.

Adding something to my to read list:
Couple of Tolkein books! :)
So many books I want to read!
Don't know where I'll start...
Maybe Walter Moers?
Then I'll read A Fine Balance, then return to Tolkein! :)
Good idea.

No reason for wanting to blog right now.
Just kidding, there is always a reason!
I adore writing.
Adam Young said that on his blog, and I second that tremendously.
Tried to load this just now and it didn't work, and I thought to myself:
KARMA.
Which is probably entirely true.
I have about 30 minutes left on the computer.
Going to start working hard!
Second post in one day!
And not so far apart from the previous.
Photography Graphics
Was browsing through old posts, trying to find old quotes from the other LOTR books, and realized just how much my writing, and me as a person have changed greatly.
I really grew up, you know.
There was a stage when I used to blog everyday and it would be about things like cheesy quotes, friends, boys, and  teen pop songs.
Photography Graphics
Things have really changed since then, haven't they?
There was a time when I made a new blog, like starting over on a clean slate, then there was a time when I ditched my blog entirely.
Of course, I came back, but all my posts were pretty forlorn.
Then, one day (I think around November?), I started over again.
I began to type properly (no more incorrect grammar and things), and write properly. I took my blog seriously, like an ambitious project, and made it into what it was today.
Through writing here, my life changed. I started to see things differently, and I think that somehow, I became a better person, more open-minded, maybe.
That was also around the time I got into indie music, leaving the pop stuff behind, and reading LOTR, which changed my opinions a lot of cheesy quotes.
I still blog about my friends, though, sometimes! (;
But, I mostly blog about myself.
I got a fortune cookie off Facebook and this is what it said:

Our first and last love is self love.

Which is true, and probably what happened to me.
I stopped having crushes, worrying about boys, and focused on so many other things for myself.
I started to read, write, and play the violin more.
I listened to more indie music.
I love this, really.
I like where I am right now, as a person.
It makes life a lot easier.

To sum it all up, I grew up a lot.

Well guys, I don't want to become the wishing time machine, so I probably won't do a post like this again, where I complain and relate to the past!
... just kidding, but not often! (;
Guess what I got rid of?
... that's right, my web hit counter.
For good reasons.
1. I don't want it there as some sort of mark as to my blog success, since that isn't really important.
2. I contribute the most views to the counter, so there's no point, really...
3. It stopped working properly.
Are we good? (;
Photography Graphics
My friends, I have work to do!
Before I leave...
pu·is·sant/ˈpwisənt/
Adjective: Having great power or influence.

There's one more word I stumbled upon in TLOTR but I can't remember what it is, but I do recall that I wanted to know what it meant.

Oh, and one more:

nig·gard/ˈnigərd/
Noun: A stingy or ungenerous person.

Not sure if I'll use that one in public, though (if you know what I mean).

Hi, my lovelies.
Guess what?
Frodo finally destroyed the ring! After their tedious and arduous journey, which I must confess, was not very pleasant to read through, all is now well. Quite content.
The book turned out quite different from the movie, and I have also recently realized that a great section of the book is the Appendix... which I'm not sure if I want to struggle through...
Anyway, here are some wonderful quotes!

"'For the quest is achieved, and now all is over. I am glad you are here with me. Here at the end of all things, Sam.'"
-- Frodo to Sam, p.268
"'Is everything sad going to come untrue? What’s happened to the world?'"
-- Sam, on realizing Gandalf and himself were well, p.274
“'A great shadow has departed,' said Gandalf, and then he laughed, and the sound was like music, or like water in a parched land; and as he listened the thought came to Sam that he had not heard laughter, the pure sound of merriment, for days without count. It fell upon his ears like the echo of all the joys he had ever known. But he himself burst into tears. Then as a sweet rain will pass down a wind of spring and the sun will shine out the clearer, his tears ceased, and his laughter welled up, and laughing he sprang from his bed.
'How do I feel?' he cried. 'Well, I don’t know how to say it. I feel, I feel' –he waved his arms in the air– 'I feel like spring after winter, and sun on the leaves; and like trumpets and harps and all the songs I have ever heard!'"
-- Gandalf and Sam, on the great shadow departing, and Sam on how he feels, p.274
"'The world is full enough of hurts and mischances without wars to multiply them.'"
-- Lord Faramir, p.284
"'I do not desire the speech of living men.'"
-- Lady Eowyn, p.286 (I wonder what she means by this).
"'Then, Éowyn of Rohan, I say to you that you are beautiful. In the valleys of our hills there are flowers fair and bright, and maidens fairer still; but neither flower nor lady have I seen till now in Gondor so lovely, and so sorrowful. It may be that only a few days are left ere darkness falls upon our world, and when it comes I hope to face it steadily; but it would ease my heart, if while the Sun yet shines, I could see you still. For you and I have both passed under the wings of the Shadow, and the same hand drew us back.'"
-- Lord Faramir, p.286 (How sweet, but I think she'd be better off with Aragorn in a sense).
"The days that followed were golden, and Spring and Summer joined and made revel together in the fields of Gondor."
-- p.290 (How lovely, right?)
"'Do not scorn pity that is the gift of a gentle heart."
-- Lord Faramir to Eowyn on pitying her before, p.291 (This quote means a lot to me).
Well, hope you like the quotes!

Had Sports Day today!
Broke the previous record for the 100m year 9 sprints!
Even though I broke it I'm not the record holder though, somebody beat me by 0.02 seconds.

Now I'll love you always even when I say you distract me.

Band of Horses is the best.

Hi readers!

Photography Graphics

The stub and paper thing in my pocket didn't really work today! Hehe.
Listening to Copeland, they're pretty good so far!

You'd break your neck to keep your chin up.

Photography Graphics

Today I was walking home from basketball and I don't know if it was the light peering out from the narrow gap between the tree leaves, but I thought I was looking at the world pixelated, like an old photograph, sort of. Maybe it was because my glasses were blurry, or I was just plain exhausted, but for a moment there I found the whole thing quite beautiful.

Photography Graphics

Then, I realized that this world, in a full blast and flow of colours is beautiful as well!

Basically, my point of blogging today is to share that and also a very emtional quote that I stumbled upon while reading TLOTR (YES I FINALLY DID).

"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach." -- Sam upon seeing the beautiful star, p.234"
This line struck me as I was reading, I could have cried!
From now on, the quote

The beauty of it smote his heart.

will remain with me always.

Got a list of books to read/re-read.
1. Les Miserables (good luck to me for that one)
2. A Fine Balance
3. The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear (remember that one?(: )
4. The City of Dreaming Books (Also by Walter Moers, who may soon be my new favourite author)
5. I thought I had six but I cannot remember number five.
6. I thought I had six but I cannot remember number six.

New favourite band is BOH by the way, in case you haven't noticed already!

Currently going through ideas for my in-class Chinese essay tomorrow.
I really want to go through another blab session like yesterday, so maybe I will if I have time tomorrow!

Decided to keep with me a pencil stub (it's shorter, see) and scrap of paper at all times to jot down blog notes at all times of the day.

Hey readers!
I have been wanting to blog for a very long time today, and have finally  got round to it.
Also picked a song to listen to while blogging, 'Older', by Band of Horses!

And after all my plans
They melt into the sand
Yeah you will be there on my mind through all
Don't want to understand why you never get older

Knitted for over an hour today, lovely. Falling more in love with my beautiful and coloured yarn. If I'm correct with the colours, my yarn is a vibrant mix of warm purple, ciel bleu (felt like talking in francais there), sea green (sort of), navy blue, lovely pink (like the blog), blanc, lipstick red, and maroon (I think). Colour coded them somewhat accurately, if that helps (which it will).

I feel inclined to mention that my two favourite sauces are:
1. Heinz Tomato Ketchup,
because I love tomatoes and that's the brand my mom buys.
2. 沙茶醬
because it's just superb (although oily), the chunky bits are near perfection. Can't remember which brand my mother buys from (hehe)!

Today I was lighting a candle and all of a sudden the lighter ignited bright light and that was a beautiful moment for me. It just lit up, and in the dim corner of room it gleamed like a star.

I absolutely loved it.

The illumination was absolutely lovely; there are so many little beautiful things in life that you can only see when your eyes are peeled away from the internet. Oh, how the digital age has revolutionized.

Speaking of revolutionized Geo class was a tad embarrassed today. Not going to go into details, but what's that word when you're overshadowed by something far more original and captivating than your own boring presentation?

Maybe overshadowed and humiliated fit. Yep, they work well.

Anyhow, on a brighter note, thinking of beautiful things in life got me thinking about this quote on Facebook (and we're back to discussing the digital age) masses of people have liked:

"Why do we close our eyes when we pray? When we cry? When we dream? Or when we kiss? Because we know that the most beautiful things in life are not seen, but felt by the heart."

This got me thinking (as everything else does) about religion (see the first line). And I thought to myself, well,

Everybody wants something to believe in, don't they?

Which is true and perfectly fine. I think it's probably better that way, really.

Then I started thinking about the song War Sweater (by Wakey!Wakey!, as you should know, if you had listened to me and gone and checked them out).

Thinking about War Sweater reminded me that I have to update my mixpod.

If you truly love her, then let her go.

That's what the evil fairy said to Shrek, right? Well, I think she's right, in a way.
Sure, you should keep fighting for that everlasting love (haven't found mine yet but I know it definitely exists), but if your lover loved someone else, wouldn't it be right, in a way, to let her/him go? Debatable, and something I definitely do not understand at this young age! Haha.

I thought of that quote because I watched Sinbad and you know that ending when whatshisname lets whatshername go to Sinbad? My sister was asking why he did that, "oh doesn't her love her, though? Or does he not?" and I just repeated that quote a couple times to her.

That concludes my blogging. Did not and probably will not get to reading TLOTR today, I have to revise for my factorising (Having struggles) math test and practice violin, the usual.

Bye guys! Enjoy the rather verbose (new word gleaned off www.owlcityblog.com a while back, so I guess it's not really a new word for me) blog post!

Lots I've been thinking about today, but I have to stop ranting and blabbering now because I have got work to do and tasks to complete.

Pretty familiar transition from 'Bad weekend' to 'Mediocre start of the week'.
Well, it could have been worse!
Suddenly ran out of ideas and things to write about so I'll blog later.

Profile Graphics, Page Graphics, Tumblr Graphics
So, I spent the weekend doing no homework and eye goggling the computer and TV.
I do not regret having my POTC marathon, if that's what you think I'm suggesting, but it would have been nice if I scraped out a lot of my at-the-time happy Facebook, Youtube and Skype time to go do homework which I am fussing over now. I could have also read an extra chapter of TLOTR.
So, in conclusion, I have unfinished tasks and still find the time to come on blogger to fume about my rant.
So there.
I am going to go back to homework now.
Oh great, my brother's packing for school already and I'm being a lazy butt.
Apparently scuttlebutt is a word.
Went to UST today but didn't even end up running properly to train for Sports Day (which I have complained about enough already so won't continue about it here).
What do we learn from this, readers?

A lot of the time, frustration is purely self inflicted.

Like now.

Why isn't it part of my mixpod again?
Well updates are,
1. I love my coconut lip balm, I apply it unnecessarily every few minutes.
2. Bright eyes has a new song leaked, which makes me very, very happy. Why isn't Bright Eyes on my mixpod again? Got songs to add...
3. The Ghost that Carried us Away is great. Mom says that their voices are pretty strengthless, but quite plaintively speaking, this music gives me so much strength.
Ooh also guys, listen to this:
Yeah, go BOH.
Did you guys know that it was the Jobro's favourite album of '10? :)
Was very happy when I found out.
Probably going to get off the computer and bury my nose in The Return of The King in a bit. Sam is the best.

Blogging because I love to.
Well, my friends, I've downloaded The Ghost that Carried me Away, and burnt it to a disc. I'm so content right now, the songs are perfect. I played it while my siblings were in the middle of a fighting frenzy and now everyone has shut up and owl waltz is playing. I love music, I love music like this that makes everything right. I'm so glad I've found music I truly love.
Going to go practice violin later, then watch POC3! Yippee, this is good. I'll also go read Return of the King.
Sam is my favourite character. I read past book six and realized more than ever, he's the loyal best friend. Because of Sam, Frodo didn't die. It's all thanks to Sam. Frodo may be the ring bearer, and Gandalf the all-powerful, great wizard, but Sam is wonderful. So sweet and brave, I admire Sam the most. I had this epiphany when I read up to that part when stupid Shagrat and whatshisname are having a silly orc fight, they say that "the most dangerous of the two spies is loose."
Look at that.
Sam went from the Sam no one really cares about, constantly tagging behind Frodo, to "the most dangerous of the two spies." Go Sam.
I love this album... favourite one now.
Blogging has made me happy, will blog tomorrow again!

Sometimes I say things I regret,
not so easy to forget.
Photography Graphics
I've got this nice image today because it works well with what I want to talk about today.
Today I want to blog about right and wrong.
This isn't something that can be decisively judged, or passed around, like a law. Laws can be broken, anyway. Right and wrong is based purely on what you think.
What's right and what's wrong for me is what I think, and what's right and what's wrong for you is your judgement. We come to realize what is right and wrong to us when we have to make decisions, or when we do make them. How do we realize this? Our guilty conscience sends us a message.
I've got a pretty strong guilty conscience; it's massive. Leave a message in the chat box telling me about your guilty conscience, haha!
Not going to go into details about this incident but sometimes we want something bad but the way we retrieve it isn't a proper achievement. I don't know about you, but instead of feeling a sense of achievement I instead feel a crushing sense in my stomach and it doesn't go away that quickly.
It is what it is when things happen, and sometimes you have to live with it and you'll be proud of your outcome.
So yep... that's what I wanted to say. It's something I really regret and I am never going to do it again. Not proud, and the lesson had better be learnt.
Don't like feeling this way.
-

Hesitant to conversing,
Oblivious to speech.
To say it simply,
I am sorry for a lot of things. It's been a while since I thought the line, "I wish things were back the way they were," regarding a friend.
Photography Graphics, Tumblr Photography
Whew, loads of quotes today. I love the above picture, the colours and everything are just gorgeous.

"If doom denies this to me, then I will have naught: neither life diminished, nor love halved, nor honour abated."
-- Denethor, on his wish for things as they were in all the days of his life, and his longfathers before him; to be the Lord of the City in peace, and leave his chair to a son after him, p.146

"Suddenly their hearts were lifted up in such a hope as they had not known since the darkness came out of the East; and it seemed to them that the light grew clear and the sun broke through the clouds."
-- After the terrible cry, p.149

"Shadowfax shall show her the meaning of haste."
-- Gandalf on Ioreth's journey to collect kingsfoil, p.159
I love it when Gandalf says things like this about Shadowfax.

"Then in the name of the king, go and find some old man of less lore and more wisdom who keeps some in his house!"
-- Gandalf on finding kingsfoil, p.160

"They are a remarkable race," said the Warden, nodding his head. "Very tough in the fibre, I deem."
-- The Warden on Merry and Pippin, p.168

There's this really long quote on the first page of "The Last Debate" so those of you wonderful readers who possess the book out there, flip to that page and it's the paragraph when Gimli talks about the stonework, up to Legolas saying he'll bring birds that sing and trees that do not die. I found that such a lovely quote. Also, a few pages back when Aragorn says to Merry that whilst he smokes his pipe he should think of Denethor, for he was "a gentle heart and a great king."

"Oft hope is born, when all is forlorn."
-- Legolas, encouraging Gimli during the passing of the Great River, p. 176

"Follow what may, great deeds are not lessened in worth."
-- Legolas, the great deed being the riding of the Paths of the Dead, p.176

"We must push Sauron to his last throw. We must call out his hidden strength, so that he shall empty his land. We must march out to meet him at once. We must make ourselves the bait, though his jaws should close on us."
-- Gandalf on their quest, p.179

"If this be jest, then it is too bitter for laughter. Nay, it is the last move in a great jeopardy, and for one side or the other it will bring the end of the game."
-- Aragorn on the quest, p. 183

Dear Readers,

Mainly,

2. Fleet Foxes (Listen to Winter Hymnals [oh my gosh it's so beautiful] and Tiger Mountain Peasant song to get you started)
Lazy to update mixpod but I will, because those are such beautiful songs.

Have I ever ranted about Bright Eyes on this blog, I don't think so.
Anyway, their only song I was familiar with a while back was "First Day of my Life," but now I'm completely engrossed in their music. How I love indie folk, rock, alt rock, baroque pop, and baroque rock. I realize that it's music like this that can really make my heart calm, that can make me think and in ways make me a better person within. I'm so inspired, and the lyrics are just amazing, as they always are. I love music like this; quite, soft, slow, meaningful. Content.
Can't even pick my favourite, but listen to 'Classic Cars' off their Cassadaga album, and

Will constantly keep linking, I think! :)

School tomorrow. :(
Emotions are running all over the place.
Can't think properly.
Starting to regret not doing creative writing this winter break.
Worried about sports day.
Can't wait to see friends tomorrow.

Realized I spent most of the holiday writing on the blog and not creative writing (which was the original plan). I love this blog though. There's a comment that says my blog could do with a bit of new design, but I love this design! So not changing. Thanks for recommending me on digg, though! Right, I'm going to read TLOTR that I have ignore now, and hopefully find new quotes! :)
I realized that when 'Take it like a Man' starts blasting the moment my blog page loads (which is pretty fast depending on your internet connection), it can give people quite a startle and shock (purpose achieved), and for a while you might be like, "JUST WHAT THE HECK IS PLAYING," but keep listening! :)

Hi readers,

Didn't have such a good first day today.
AND to top it off I come on my beautiful blog to realize that the image I attached for the last day of 2010 has... disappeared. / OKAY I know this will be very confusing but I just switched tabs and realized that the picture was there, just hadn't loaded just now, and I had already deleted it from the post and the backup so I had to save it and re-upload it and now everything's fine. Wish I didn't have to go to all that trouble but at least it's fixed.

I want to talk about my mixpod, which I love. The first song on the track now is "Take it like a man" and I'm surprisingly in love with it, it's such an eccentric song, but reminds me of classical music (well, it should) if you get what I mean... allegro vivace, allegro, moderato... is this making sense?

Then, the next track is currently one of my favourite songs. It's just lovely, so sweet and wonderful. :) The third one (still from Wakey!Wakey!) is just an all round fun, boppy song that I know you guys will like.

BTW I don't watch one tree hill, I know this band because my friend introduced it to me, and then I found it again! So hurray for that, hope you guys like it! The singer's Mike Grubbs, by the way, go check out his website which is really nice!

Speaking of 'website' and 'really nice' I'm going to go read www.owlcityblog.com.

BYE GUYS.
